Wow this answers so much. You don't care what goes on in other countries, so therefore you don't know. What don't you know? Just how (in comparison to some European countries) crappy this one is.

Our healthcare system? A borderline 3rd world joke.

Economy? Can anyone say creditcard debt. The USA alone has been the cause of all of the global ressesions, from the depression of 1930's to now.

Energy Policy? Also a joke. We have barely any renewable sources, while other countries in this aspect are far more advanced than us.

Education system? Considering our international test score rank BARELY above Mexico, i'd say it's not good.

Higher Education? Highest costs in the world.

Environmental Policy? Getting better, but not good.

Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying this country is plain horrible. What I am saying, is that RELATIVE to Europe, it is horrible.

And again, as mentioned in previous posts, most of our wealth is on paper. Compared to other nations, no way in hell we are the best economically. We're running a 14-15 trillion debt and multi-trillion dollar deficit, where have you been?


EDIT: Of course the whole world is in a recession. It's a global economy. We caused it!

Addition to austin's post (which I agree with 100%): I wish you had stated that you don't care or know what goes on in any other country earlier.

I didn't mean that I'm completely clueless on what's happening in the world, again I just phrased that completely wrong. Its mostly that I'm just concerned about this country, and not Germany's or France's system or government, political parties, health care plans etc

Yeah this recession is definitely our fault because our economy is filled with hot air, but that's why we're not doing so badly, because the world is based around us. I never denied that.

Major edit: The initial reason why I even posted on this thread was to try and make the point that both Liberals and Conservatives have their ups and downs. I definitely wasn't expecting this.

You SHOULD care about other countries. We are not the only country in the world. The single fact is you have not told me why we are so damn special. Why progressive taxing works in the UK, in France, in Germany, but not here.

Where the hell did you get that from, I never said it was a plus, I said that its the only reason why we're not in total chaos right now......

Mega king, majority doesn't support what you guys want to do, it's not going to happen anytime soon. People don't like the idea of redistributing wealth

You are so adamantly against progressive taxes. Why? Why are you against it when it works so well in other countries?

The question is not if America will vote it. The question is: Why not us? You claim that our economy is fine and progressive taxes would fuck with it. How?

Its not that I'm right or wrong, Its basically going to be another reason for the rich to avoid taxes if that goes into affect, and it will definitely not have a huge impact, all it will really do is piss off a majority of Americans. I've said this before, there's nothing else I have to say about that, that's all I've said for the last 10 pages

Definitely not have a huge impact? Where do you get that from? I believe Eaustinn and I have provided a dozen ways it could benefit the quality of life in America. You have not provided any reasons why it wouldn't have a huge impact. And, if it wouldn't have a huge impact, then WHY NOT?

Piss of a majority of Americans? Either you're saying the majority of Americans are rich (haha) or that the majority of Americans dislike the poor (haha).
