Seriously, what's up with this generic PMC look? ACE already modified the ArmA 2 units to use the backpacks, there's no exception. The regular ArmA II units are amazing for this, in fact, if they just used the old ArmA II units, beat them up a little, made them look sweatier, maybe bloodier, give them a more road warrior look, this would be awesome. After all, South Zagoria is in civil war. There are plenty of armed, dangerous looking men running around.

Problem solved. Make new units based on the ArmA II: OA code, base them off the old, beat them up, boom. Apocalypse characters. Regular modders do these things all the time, I'm pretty sure it's not beyond these guys.

OK, just to make sure I don't sound like a condescending jerk when saying this, let me get a few things out first.

1. That is a truly amazing remake. The additional weather and graphic effects are stunning, and are definitely up Halo's alley.
2. That is a far more realistic setup as to how the situation is taken on, using ODSTs instead of regular Marines, suppressed weapons (even though the element of surprise is lost early on), and not to mention the Covenant forces.

But, what it doesn't bring back is the "We're a bunch of Marines and we're going to go save the freakin' Captain from alien gooks" feel. When I did that in the early 2000s, that truly felt like a suicide mission. After all, who in their right mind sends ~10 guys to go raid a Cruiser? The ODSTs and silenced weapons are cool, but they detract from the mindset that the mission will play out differently and that they won't just shoot their way through everything, when in reality that's the only intention.

But I'm a person who likes changing things up just for preference, especially when it comes to game. That's extremely cool. I can't say I wouldn't do that.
